On the auspicious occasion of Pradosh Vrat, devotees must worship Lord Shiva. The fast on Pradosh Vrat is considered as one of the most auspicious and important vows of Hinduism. According to the Hindu lunar calendar, the Pradosha fast is kept on the 13th day of the lunar month (Trayodashi). There is a belief that after worshipping Lord Shiva on the day of Pradosh, the devotee receives liberation.
